Celtic Cheer Teams
Michael McMahon
Mike has travelled all over the world cheerleading. His most recent trips have taken him as far as the USA and Japan where he was the captain of the UK National team at the ICF World Championships. Mike was one half of the first British co-ed partner stunt which took place at Future Cheer last February. Since then, him and his stunt partner Rachel have gone on to claim National partner stunt championships at FC, UKCA, BCA and ICC. He also has several national championships already under his belt in both group stunt and co-ed routines. Before he came to university to study sports science, he cheered for the Blackpool Scorpions and Chorley Warriors. Now at Leeds, he is part of their extremely successful stunt group who are not only FC, ICC, BCA and UKCA national champions but also European champions too. He spent 3 weeks last summer training in Texas and attending a UCA American College camp. Mike’s vision is to see the UK cheerleading reach the same standard as US Colligate cheer and hopes to achieve this through improving the level of co-ed stunting in the country.
